Satellite Description
  • 3rd flight unit of the GOSAT programme.
  • Main missions: Greenhouse gas monitoring and multi-purpose MW imagery.
  • TANSO-3 uses a grating imaging spectrometer, replacing the fourier transform spectrometer used in TANSO-2. The MW imager AMSR3 is a follow-on from AMSR2 with additional channels at 10.25, 165.5 and 183 GHz bands.
