  • Single-satellite programme, addressing the chemistry of the upper atmosphere.
  • USA programme: NASA responsible of development and operations. Main involved NASA institute: GCFC.  Several instruments provided by foreign institutes.
  • The spacecraft is actively stabilised over 3 axes.
  • The design lifetime is 3 years.
  • A medium-inclination drifting orbit is exploited.

  • Onboard stored data downlinked to several stations of the NASA network.
  • Mission managed by the NASA/GSFC Payload Operations and Control Center (POCC), responsible of data processing and distribution.
