Programme description
  • "Huan Jing" means "Environment".
  • Series of satellites for land observation, contributing to the Disaster Monitoring Constellation (DMC).
  • Chinese programme: CRESDA (China Center for Resources Satellite Data and Application) responsible of management and operations, CAST (Chinese Academy of Space Technology) of development.
  • The platforms are actively stabilised over 3 axes.
  • The design life time is 5 years.
  • The satellite exploits the sunsynchronous orbit of the DMC around 10:30.
  • Redundancy is implemented by co-flying with several other similar satellites in the DMC.

Data circulation
  • Data stored onboard and transmitted to receiving stations in China at Miyun (Beijing), Kashi and Hainan.
  • Data processing and analysis performed by CRESDA (China Center for Resource Satellite Data and Application).
