Satellite Programme: Space Weather Follow-On
Single satellite programme, for solar-terrestrial interation.
Joint NOAA-NASA programme - NASA responsible of the development of the space segment, NOAA of the deelopment of the ground segment and of operations and exploitation.
The platform is 3-axes stabilized.
The design lifetime of the satellite is 5 years.
The satellite is placed on the L1 Lagrange libration point (1,500,000 km from the Earth surface) pointing at the Sun and its environment.
Ground services performed by NOAA in accordance with NOAA's Ground Enterprise Requiremnet Structure.
Data Processing performed by the NWS Space Weather Prediction Center (SWPC).
