Full name Influence of Space Radiation on Advanced Components
Purpose To monitor the effect of ambient energetic particles on onboard electronic circuits. Also relevant for Space weather.
Short description Suite of detectors for electrons (0.05-6 MeV), protons (8-30 MeV) and heavy ions.
Background The instruments, first flown on SAC-C, has also been flown on SAC-D in an updated version (ICARE-NG, New Generation) as part of the CARMEN-1 complex that also includes SODAD (Système orbital pour la détection active des débris) to form a complex named CARMEN-1
