Guidelines on Satellite Skills and Knowledge for Operational Meteorologists
This document describes the enabling skills that support WMO Competency Frameworks related to the use of satellite data by operational meteorologists. The primary focus of this document is on meteorological forecasting.
The latest version of the Guidelines was updated by the VLab Management Group (VLMG) in consultation with all VLab Centres of Excellence and partners. The document was approved by the Inter-Programme Expert Team on Satellite Utilisation and Products (IPET-SUP) in August 2018.
The list below provides access to the latest edition of the Guidelines on Satellite Skills and Knowledge for Operational Meteorologists (Edition 2018 – available in all WMO official languages), as well as previous version (Edition 2017). The Guidelines on Satellite Skills and Knowledge for Operational Meteorologists is also part of the Compendium of WMO Competency Frameworks (WMO- No. 1209), a document that provides WMO Members with easy access to all the WMO competency frameworks that have been implemented so far.
