International Workshop on Precipitation and Space-based Snowfall Measurements
The International Precipitation Group (IPWG) is organising the joint 10th Workshop of IPWG and 6th International Workshop on Space-based Snowfall Measurements (IWSSM).
The Workshop will be taking place in Fort Collins (Colorado, USA), 1-5 June 2020. Key objectives of the Workshop are: * Review the state of the art of rainfall and snowfall/high-latitude precipitation measurement techniques. * Discuss the application of satellite precipitation products for research and operations. * Recommend future directions to WMO and the Coordination Group for Meteorological Satellites (CGMS) and coordinate with the Global Energy and Water Exchanges project (GEWEX) on topics related to precipitation.
Abstract submission deadline: 15 February 2020 (extended deadline)

Compendium of WMO Competency Frameworks is published
A Compendium was published by WMO to provide Members with easy access to all the WMO competency frameworks that have been implemented since 2013.
Competency frameworks describe the critical job skills and knowledge required of operational personnel, providing assessment criteria regarding readiness to perform service delivery tasks, and help training providers offer impactful learning opportunities.
