Programme description
  • Series of two experimental satellites for data collection.
  • Brazilian programme: INPE responsible of development and operations. 
  • The platforms are spin stabilised (with active control of spin rate on SCD-2).
  • The design life time is 1 year.
  • The satellites are in low-inclination orbit for frequent coverage of the equatorial zone.
  • Redundancy is provided by flying the two satellites in the same orbital plane, dephased by 180°.
