  • Chinese programme: CNSA responsible of the development of the space segment, CMA responsible of mission requirements definition, development of the ground segment and full system operation.
  • The platforms are actively stabilised over 3 axes.
  • The design life time of the satellites is 2 years.
  • The satellites are designed to cover sunsynchronous orbits of various ECT's.
  • The replacement policy is based on launching satellites at roughly 3-year intervals.
  • See detailed description at https://directory.eoportal.org/missions/fy-1.
Data circulation
  • Onboard stored data at reduced resolution and selected frames at full resolution are dowlinked by GDPT (Global Delayed Picture Transmission) to stations of the China National Satellite Meteorological Center (NSMC) in Beijing, Guangzhou and Urumqi.
  • Real-time broadcasting of full resolution data by the CHRPT (Chinese High Resolution Picture Transmission) to properly equipped (HRPT-like) local stations.
