Observing Systems Capability Analysis and Review Tool
Satellite Programme: Science Satellite / Atmospheric Chemistry Experiment
Single-satellite programme, addressing chemistry of the upper atmosphere.
Framed in the context of a Canada/USA collaboration: CSA responsible of development and operations. Lanch service provided by NASA.
The platform is actively stabilised over 3 axes.
The design life time is 2 years.
The satellite exploits a high-inclination drifting orbit.
See detailed description at
The global data are stored onboard and downlinked to a CSA station in Saint-Hubert, Quebec, with subsidiary in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Further station in Kiruna and Fairbanks.
Data processing is at the SOC (Science Operations Centre), based at the University of Waterloo.
