Single-satellite programme, addressing chemistry of the upper atmosphere.
International programme led by Sweden: SNSB responsible of development and operations of the space segment; major contributions from CSA (Canadian Space Agency), France (CNES) and TEKES (National Technology Agency of Finland)].
The platform is actively stabilised over 3 axes.
The design life time is 2 years.
The satellite exploits a sunsynchronous dawn-dusk orbit at 6:00.

The global data are stored onboard and downlinked to the Kiruna station.
Data processing is shared among several Swedish and foreign institutes, with central archive in Stockholm. The OSIRIS data are processed at the University of Saskatchewan, Sasketoon, Canada.
